Since the publication of the position statement of the reflection group (available in French only) on Medical Aid in Dying and End-of-Life care, on December 10, 2021, the Collège des médecins du Québec, CMQ (Quebec College of Physicians) has made headlines:

https://www.lapresse.ca/actualites/sante/2021-12-13/aide-medicale-a-mourir/oui-pour-certains-enfants-dit-le-college-des-medecins.php
In this document, the College supports the expansion of MAiD for mental illness, while only 42% of its members are in favour, according to their internal survey. Although not included in the consultation, it also proposes an extension to categories of minors as well as broadening the debate on 'being tired/weary of life' to all of society.
We strongly encourage physicians in Quebec to write to the CMQ and to the media, to make it clear that the College does not represent them in this matter, quite the contrary. Support your stance with examples from your clinical experience.
